Sometimes Mama Hen needs to go places – doctor’s office, hair salon, Pilates class – where it’s best not to bring the Little Chicks along.
So what’s more perfect then taking them to The Nest, Woodinville’s new drop-off play and learning center?
Filling the void of the last-minute babysitter that’s so hard to find, The Nest offers a social, creative environment for ages 2 to 6. With a staff of preschool teachers and an inventive children’s museum-style environment, The Nest’s 4000 square feet of space is designed to offer non-chaotic, organized fun.
Kids can stay for up to 4 hours, and while reservations aren’t required, it’s best to call ahead for a spot. (The space accommodates 30 kids per hour and The Nest guarantees a 1 to 7 teacher-student ratio.) The fee is $9 per hour per child, with a discount rate of $5 per hour for the second child.
The Nest also offers Parents’ Night Out every Saturday night (where the age range is extended to 9 years) and scheduled enrichment programs with a monthly learning theme.
Co-owners Jana Maas and Meredith Doleac created the business after realizing the options were limited for this type of child care. Some parents don’t want a childcare program where you have to commit to certain days a week, says Maas. “You want to be able to use it when you need it. Flexibility is the beauty of it.”
