World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Michelle Stafford D.D.S. believes every child deserves to have a positive experience going to the dentist. With this in mind, she aims to change kids' perception of a dentist visit and promote healthy habits at World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry. On the practice's website, you can watch several brief videos that showcase the World of Smiles office, Dr. Stafford's pleasant disposition, and young patients who aren't crying or throwing tantrums. We may be on to something here...

The World of Smiles office features a fun travel theme (inspired by Dr. Stafford's love for exploration), that is designed to entertain and inspire kids. Its lively, colorful interior serves as a gallery for artwork and photography from around the world. The office also holds theme days, such as Pirate Dress-Up Day or Prince and Princess Day, that make for a merry environment.

If that's not enough to occupy the kiddies, there are televisions built into the ceiling above every dental chair to provide positive distraction. Crew members are trained to minimize patient anxiety through careful handling of instruments, thorough explanations and child-appropriate demonstrations of procedures whenever possible. Additionally, every crew member has cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, as well as training in the safe use of nitrous oxide.

Dr. Stafford's attention to detail when it comes to her patient's comfort is matched by an impressive resume of accomplishments. She completed an additional two years of training after dental school in an accredited pediatric residency program to become a pediatric dental specialist. She is proud to serve as a Diplomat for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is among the approximate 47% of practicing pediatric dentists to be board certified. For years, she has been actively involved in numerous community and educational outreach programs.

Think you need to take baby steps to get your tot's baby teeth inspected? Visit World of Smiles, and you'll see that a trip to the dentist can be a positive and exciting adventure for your young one, rather than an ordeal.
