Dizzy’s Bus Stop

What’s the perfect antidote to the oh-so-common rainy Pacific Northwest day?

If you’re in the vicinity of Bellevue, the answer’s simple:  pack up the kiddos and head to the bus stop (and, no, we’re not talking about Metro Transit). We mean Dizzy’s Bus Stop, the three-year-old brainchild of Dizzy Fukitomi, mom of three and owner of Dizzy’s Tumblebus (the super-cute school bus of gym activities that has been showing up at birthday parties and preschools in the greater Seattle area for the past eight years).

A large indoor play space with a school bus theme and gorgeous murals of Pike Place Market and the Space Needle, the Bus Stop is an extension of the tumblebus concept.  Enter the front door, past the hood of the bus, and you’re in a park-like setting, complete with green carpet and trees painted on the walls. The main part of the bus is an activity room with a kitchen, market and areas for everything from dress up to playdough.  A tumbling room in back features a slide, monkey bars, trampoline and rock climbing wall.

Dizzy’s offers an array of classes, including: A flexible Preschool program, where kids ages 2-5  can attend 1 to 5 days a week; A Drop-and-Go program for ages 2-6, where kids can be dropped off for an hour up to four-hours; and Open Play, where parents can supervise kid-play for three-hour sessions for kids crawling to age 7.  Private birthday parties and Kids Night Out are held on weekends.

Dizzy’s Bus Stop is such a busy spot, you just might forget about the rain.
